Welcome to my blog and thank you for stopping by, and an even bigger thank you if you are returning!
Today we are doing a Sephora haul. July is my birthday month, and if you’re familiar with Sephora, then you know they always have a gift for your birthday. I figured this was the perfect opportunity to stop in and see what is new, and treat myself to some birthday makeup. This is probably one of my more expensive Sephora trips, but hey, who doesn’t like to treat them self to some nice things from time to time.
So lets just jump right in. I have been really into facemasks and skin care lately. As I get older, I start to really realize that this is the only skin I am going to have for the rest of my life, and unfortunately I can’t slow down time, so I might as well start using products to help preserve my skin.
I have tried a few glam glow masks in the past, but I have always purchased the trial sizes, because they are pricey. So I decided to make my first big Glam Glow purchase the Glam Glow Gravitymud Firming Treatment Mask. I have seen soooo many great reviews about this mask that I just had to try. This mask claims to firm, lift, tight and tone, and it is silver, which is super cool. Honestly, I haven’t really seen any other masks like this, so I figured it was time to try.
Next is another mask, this one is a little different. I was walking through the skincare section in Sephora, and I was not really sure what I was looking for. So as I was looking around to see if anything stood out, one of the Sephora employees came over and we started talking, and she brought me over to the dr. brandt section. I am always looking for a good pore minimizing/deep pore cleaning product. So I ended up picking up the dr. brandt pores no more vacuum cleaner, which is a blackhead extractor mask that absorbs oil, unclogs and tightens pores. This is a mask that you can apply to your problem areas or over your entire face. It claims to help loosen and extract blackheads, absorb dirt and excess oil from pores, and refines skin’s smoothness and texture. The girl at Sephora said this product is a miracle product, so obviously I had to try, who doesn’t want a deep clean and appearance of smoother skin and smaller pores?
Benefit Cosmetics has been a brand favorite of mine for years, I have tried so many of their products, and really have nothing bad to say about the brand, so of course I had to check out their new products.
The first thing I picked up is an oldie but a goodie, The Hello Flawless powder. I have used this powder for years, and it is my all time favorite face powder and a staple in my collection. So I had to pick up a new one since my current one is getting low.
Next up, we have brow products. Benefit completely redid their brow line and really stepped up their brow game. I have always loved benefit’s packaging, any brand that puts the extra time in to make their packaging as good as their products is a win with me.
First I grabbed the Precisely, My Brow Pencil. The Packaging is amazing, and has the pencil on one side and a spoolie on the other. This brow pencil claims to be 12 hour wear, water proof and have hair like strokes. I swatched this in the store and it really does seem to give hair like strokes and have a sturdy pencil. I have tried many brow pencils that are too thin and just break off with even the lightest of pressure if you are not careful, but I was really pushing on the tester in the store and it seemed to hold up well.
Next is the Ka Brow cream brow gel. Again, the packaging is super cute. The top opens and turns into your brush, and then you can twist off and dip into the product to apply, so it’s an all in one, which is great for on the go. This brow gel claims to give a natural look to buildable dramatic look, has a 24 hour wear and is waterproof. I don’t actually have a lot of experience with brown gels, so I am really excited to try this.
Lastly, from benefit, is the 1st prize highlighters. While I was in the benefit section, I was looking at the new liquid highlighters and trying to decide which one I wanted to try, since I have not tried any of them before. Since I was being so indecisive, I decided I would look around some more and go back to pick the one I wanted. Well while I was looking, I found this in the trial section near checkout. This comes with three 4ml liquid highlighters. You get High Beam, a satiny pink highlighter, Sun Beam, a golden bronze highlighter, and Dandelion Shy Beam, a nude pink matte-radiance highlighter. I am very excited that I can now try all three now.
And the final thing I purchased, is of course a beautyblender. It is always good to have an extra on hand. I just love the beautyblender so much and use it every day, and my current one has a tear in it, not even sure how that happened, so it’s getting to be that time for a new one.
And lastly, my excuse for going, the birthday gift. There were two options, a skincare set or a marc Jacobs set. Since I was already purchasing two new skincare products, I went with the marc Jacobs gift, which came with a lipstick and eyeliner. I have actually seen a lot of great reviews on the eyeliner, so I figured this was the perfect time to try. So the set came with a black marc Jacobs eye liner and a beautiful mauve lipstick in the color Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
That wraps up my haul, like I said in the beginning, this was probably one of my most expensive trips to Sephora, but I am super excited to try some new products out. If you follow me on instagram keep and eye out for mini reviews over there on these products, and maybe some blog post in the future!
As always, thank you so much for reading! And let me know in the comments, if you have tried any of the products and any tips or tricks to using them? Also, what’s on your wish list for Sephora? I love hearing your suggestions and what I should try next!
